WHAT IS THE RENTAL PROCESS?

Take a look at the rentals section of our website and screenshot or remember anything that catches your eye. When coming into the shop, please let us know you’re looking for a rental. We then grab what costume fits the theme or what caught your eye from the site. Once everything is looking good, we take down your contact information and figure out a date you’d like to pick up and drop off. Next, we do an authorization charge to your card, pay for the rental, and you’re good to go. You either take the costume then, or come back closer to your event date.

What is an Authorization Charge?

we do not take a deposit or place a hold on your card for this. Instead we do an authorization charge which means we save your card information, and you authorize us to charge the amount it would cost for us to replace the costume if it comes back damaged or does not come back at all.

Do I have to clean my costume after wearing it?

Nope, we take care of the cleaning process in house.

Can I rent in advance?

Yes you can reserve rentals up to several months in advance.

Can I rent over the phone?

No, you must be in person to reserve a rental. This is because we have a specific machine to safely do the authorization charge on. We must physically swipe the card to do this part of the rental process.

What are your hours?

We are open every day from 2-7

Do you purchase costumes & Vintage clothes?

We are open to looking at your vintage pieces and costumes if they are in great condition and of high quality. We are always interested in theater quality costumes and unique pieces. If you’re unsure, please send us some photos to haightstreetcostumes@gmail.com before you stop in.

Is your shop only rentals?

No. We have purchase items on the floor and rental stock in the back. We bring out the rental pieces for you. You can see all our rentals here, but must come in person to see our purchase options.

are your purchase options new or vintage?

We have a mix of both new, Vintage, and handmade pieces.

What is your return policy?

All sales are final, we do not do returns or give store credit.

Do you rental packages for corporate events or parties?

yes, please send us an email and we’ll get that figured out for you.
